Meet the Author
Dr. Donna Housman has spent her career advancing the emotional, cognitive, and social development of young children. Believing it is far easier to prevent than to repair, she founded Housman Learning and its lab school to support academic success by teaching emotional intelligence skills. Her work is rooted in research.
Dr. Housman created the Emotional, Cognitive, and Social Early Learning (ECSEL) approach to promote healthy brain development and to teach the skills of emotional intelligence. Through this approach, Housman Learning has trained thousands of educators and supported countless children and families—providing the tools to teach educators, parents and children the emotional regulation necessary to thrive in the classroom and throughout life.
